THE “ADEUS MOSQUITO” CAMPAIGN WAS LAUNCHED IN BRAZIL
The “Adeus Mosquito” campaign, the Brazilian chapter of the “Chau Mosquito” campaign, was launched in Manaus, Brazil. The goal is to strengthen prevention efforts in communities affected by the Aedes aegypti mosquito by training community leaders.
In Manaus, the project is being implemented by the Sustainable Amazon Foundation (FAS) in collaboration with the organization Edupas and with support from SC Johnson.
On November 26 and 27, representatives from the Manaus Municipal Health Secretariat, the Rosemary Costa Pinto Health Surveillance Foundation, and the Sustainable Amazon Foundation (FAS) participated in the first training session for community leaders of the “Adeus Mosquito” program.
The trained community leaders received campaign materials and resources to work collaboratively with communities and families on the prevention of diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti.
