ESCOBAR  |  BUENOS AIRES

“I feel very happy to have achieved what I achieved. I didn't believe in the possibility of going back to school. Nowadays I feel proud to set an example for my younger brothers, give them support and show them that anything is possible. Many thanks to the teachers for their learning and patience, and for their commitment to us. I’m thinking about continuing learning and giving talks myself next year.”

“From the beginning everything was very interesting, investigating the transmission of mosquito diseases, and above all the most interesting thing was investigating the prevention, which is what we focused the most on together with the group. We wanted to convey this to the residents of our neighborhood where the most cases of dengue were in recent times according to the report that came out. “Everyone treated us very well and there were even cases in which people thanked us for our little contribution, because everything adds up to taking care of ourselves and preventing all together.”

“I have never had experience giving talks to children before. It's hard to explain to children because they easily become bored. Thanks to this experience I had the possibility of learning to teach children through games. When I went to give the talk at a Community Dinner, it was outstanding! “They surprised me, they really did, they listened to me, and I also surprised myself.”

“I really liked everyone´s vibe, they were there training us, teaching us, informing us. Because they were very kind, they were there to answer any questions, they were attentive, so I loved how everyone was.”

“I learned a lot and I incorporated a lot of knowledge and different communication skills, because it had been very difficult for me to express myself before. So I took that with me. The whole experience too, it was very nice. Now in front of a class I perform well, I try to express myself better and I understand what I am talking about.”

“Throughout the entire training process I felt very comfortable. Although it was a new experience and I didn't know what I was going to find there, I think they made us feel very comfortable from the first moment. And they also helped us gain a lot of confidence. It was not a meeting of: come, get trained and that's it. On the contrary, they were interested in how we were doing, in getting to know us, and I thought that was something really nice.”
